Apprentice Electrician

About the Job

Unified Power, a Critical Power company, has openings for experienced Apprentice Electricians in our Baltimore - Washington DC office. Our Electricians analyze circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service or replace electronic devices and systems. 


This will include the installation and start-up of electrical systems, conducting system tests and completing electrical preventative maintenance. This work requires a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials, and principles of operation of electrical equipment. Work may require knowledge of special testing equipment such as Ohmmeters, Voltmeters, and Oscilloscopes. Work will involve placing conduit (Pipes or Tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. 


Must have an Apprenticeship level certification for this position. Experience with set-up and installation, or electrical wiring of UPS, batteries, generators and electronics systems is required. Applicants will perform other related duties as necessary. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer relation skills and be proficient in PC systems. 


All work must be completed in accordance with company safety standards and in line with OSHA requirements. Assignments are moderate to extensively complex in nature, which require judgment, and initiative in resolving problems and making recommendations. Some travel will be required. 

 

Applicants must provide a valid driver’s license, be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance, and be able to secure a rental vehicle when traveling. All expenses are paid/reimbursable. In-House training will be provided as needed. No relocation expenses available.
