We are currently are looking for a Director, Organizational Development to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to help us create and implement an innovative and strategic approach to organizational development that will meet the current and future needs of the unique and varied clients within our hospital. This position will be instrumental in enabling us to achieve our vision for our Human Resources team and will play a key role in helping us to achieve the objectives of the Hospital's strategic direction. As a "thought-leader" and champion for Organizational Development, you will have the opportunity to use your influence to improve services, policies and programs as they relate to leadership development, performance management, succession planning, new hire orientation or on-boarding, change management, HR communications, non-monetary recognition and engagement programs. Here's What You'll Get To Do:
Develop innovative and evidenced-based end-to-end leadership and succession planning strategies and associated programs (including training, tools, and supports) to identify, develop and support leadership capacity both now and in the future.
Oversee the development of hospital-wide performance and talent assessment strategies, policies and practices.
Promote the use of recognized best-practice methodologies to support Change Management and Organizational Design initiatives.
Lead the development of a hospital-wide employee engagement strategy that will reinforce and support the achievement of the Hospital's strategic direction to "Enable our People".
Improve new hire orientation and create non-monetary recognition strategies to provide all of our employees with a positive cultural integration to SickKids and recognition for their incredible dedication and contribution to our mission.
Create effective approaches for HR communication and messaging to our employees.
Provide one-on-one coaching to Executives and Directors in the organization to improve and promote organizational effectiveness and accountability.
Translate the Hospital's strategic directions into operational objectives that support the Human Resources and Organizational Development vision.
Work in close collaboration with the Talent Management (HR Operations & Talent Acquisition) and HR Technical Transformation team in order to ensure a integrated approach in our HR offerings.
Here's What You'll Need:
10 or more years of progressive experience in organizational development and design, including the development and implementation of leadership and performance assessment programs; engagement surveys; succession planning with a focus on HR communication and change management.
5 or more years of management experience in leading, motivating, and engaging a multi-disciplinary group of professional staff.
5 or more years of success in designing and implementing leading-edge Organizational Development programs, strategies, and work-plans in large and highly complex organizations involving multiple stakeholders and business partners.
A proven ability to successfully manage and deliver results in an ambiguous, fast-paced and priority-rich environment.
Previous experience facilitating discussions and leadership development sessions/training with professionals across a multidisciplinary organization.
A Bachelors Degree in Organizational Development or a related specialization with preference given to candidates possessing a Master's Degree in a related discipline. Ideally you will also have post-secondary education in Adult Education.
Previous experience working in a Hospital is an asset but is not required. We welcome candidates from both the public and private sectors.
