eDiscovery Project Manager (Legal) - Multiple locations

Our Corporate Legal team is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the eDiscovery team.  Under the direction of the of the Director of eDiscovery, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, utilizing, and  refining best practices and tools related to UHG's e-discovery requirements.  Performs day to day activities related to the identification, gathering, searching of data and coordinating/managing processing and review vendors related to matters as requested by UHG Litigation Managers and outside counsel.
 
This person's legal background, technical skills and experiences working on eDiscovery litigation should data allow him/her to seamlessly interface with the internal Litigation Manager (in-house counsel), outside counsel, internal collection resources, vendors,  and review teams.  He/she should understand the overall objectives of a matter, as well as the specific requirements at a particular stage in the litigation process.
 
This is a combination Project Manager/Sr. Paralegal type position that will work in coordination and under the direction of the Directory of eDiscovery in delivering enterprise wide solutions and support for UHG's eDiscovery needs. 
 
A portion of this position will involve helping to develop, disseminate, and train the business segment Litigation Managers on the new processes related to eDiscovery for UHG.
 
A portion of the position will involve working with the Litigation Manager, Corporate Security based data collection resources, and outside counsel on the identification, collection, searching/culling,  processing and review of UHG data subject to legal or regulatory matters.

  • Minimum of  5 years experience as a litigation paralegal in a law firm or in a corporate legal environment. 

  • Required to have experience working on litigation matters involving e-Discovery collections, processing, review and productions.  

  • Required to have proven project management skills and 2 or more years of experience.

  • Required to have experience interfacing with corporate I.T. departments. 

  • Experience managing Vendor work product and deliverables a plus.

  • Experience in managing significant eDiscovery matters a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Paralegal certification a plus.

  • Technical skills needed include a strong familiarity with the functions of Microsoft Office and Exchange/Outlook applications.   Technical skills specific to eDiscovery include a strong familiarity with tools for document review and processing,  such as, Concordance, Summation, Daegis DocHunter, Kroll OnTrack InVeiw, FTI Ringtail. 

  • Experience with eDiscovery processing applications such as LAW 5, or Cricket a plus.
