eLearning Art Director

The GP eLearning division is a leading provider of custom training programs.

GP eLearning's comprehensive training programs include:

GP has an immediate need for a creative Art Director in Redmond, WA.

Job Summary:
This is a senior-level design position within the Interactive Design Department. Overall work responsibilities include strategic creative and project team leadership on multiple client accounts across a broad range of client deliverables.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Lead a team to strategize, conceptualize, finalize, and produce a variety of interactive and print components
• Set and build design standards for company and specific clients
• Direct the desired creative elements and graphics in conjunction with developers, graphic designers and instructional designers
• Provide Account Managers and/or Project Managers with accurate time estimates
• Manage the activities of contract designers, photographers, and other internal designer team members as required to meet project deliverables
• Lead production team in strategic internal design meetings and client meetings
• Create and/or oversee the creation of the visual components of adjunct online deliverables including coursework, proposals, web sites, interactive program pieces, product data sheets, comparison charts and e-mail blasts and other products
• Create and/or oversee the creation of the visual components of print deliverables (e.g., reference guides) as required for the project, including press checks
• Contribute to Lessons Learned and internal review sessions to help improve processes and improve product quality
• Contribute to the continual evaluation of creative and development processes through cross-account work reviews, implementing project-specific improvements, and proactive suggestions to the management team
• Mentor designers and critique department work, providing appropriate feedback on design and instructional principles, UI and navigation and brand strategy
• Direct photo shoots and media development sessions
• Implement established processes and provide input to improve processes
• Research design developments, competitive landscape and the interactive industry in general to identify new techniques and tools to improve the quality of deliverables
• Maintain accurate records of time spent on project and non-project tasks
• Provide timely input for peer review processes
• Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:
• Five plus years full-time experience in design and production of interactive, pop and print projects
• Conceptual thinker, team player, excellent communication skills with clients and coworkers
• Outstanding design skills and fluency
• Excellent skills in Photoshop, Image Ready or Fireworks, Illustrator or Freehand, InDesign and QuarkXPress and Flash, working knowledge of HTML/XML are a plus. Proficiency in MS Office including PowerPoint a must.
• Silverlight experience strongly preferred
• Attention to detail and strong work ethic
• Teambuilding skills, ability to direct a team of designers
• A strong background in New Media including web and interactive design, use of A/V and multi-media files and with a true understanding of graphic design principles and how they apply to the web
• Strong understanding of UI standards and best practices related to site navigation and usability
• Awareness of the design limitations of the major web browsers and platforms including older Flash players.
• Extensive typography experience is a must
Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent combination of education and work experience in graphic and interactive design or advertising design.
