We are working exclusively with our client in locating an Instructional Designer / Developer competent in eLearning development to take on several projects, with the possibility of becoming a full time employee with them. Experience with Adobe Captivate and Presenter is required.
Current focus will be on a project for which some of the content exits. However, the consultant will need to do needs analysis and work with SMEs to write additional content. This current content sometimes is just presentations and need to be refined and turned into training. You will work with LMS Admins to upload the courses.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop interactive learning content including learning objectives, simulation scenarios, graphical art/media, video podcasts, and valid/reliable assessments
Ensure instructional activities and assessments align with the learning objectives
Incorporate blended learning (including hands-on) activities and assessments, when appropriate
Conduct pilots of courses with SMEs and sample target audience to ensure accuracy of content, effectiveness of activities, ease of interface, and achievements of outcomes.
Required Skills:
BS or BA degree in instructional design, computer-based courseware development, multimedia, educational psychology or related field
Knowledge of instructional design process and adult learning principles
4+ years of experience in full-cycle Instructional Design (ADDIE)
3+ years of experience with eLearning tools
Must have hands-on experience with Adobe Captivate, Adobe Presenter, MS PowerPoint
Experience developing technical training (systems training, installation procedures, technical product training)
Ability to manage projects through to completion and meet deadlines for delivery
Ability to work well within a team environment, sharing work assignments when necessary
Knowledge of other Adobe Tools (Flash, Dreamworks, Fireworks, etc) is a big plus
Preferred industry experience: energy, utilities, manufacturing lifecycle, or a technology company.
SCORM compliance and LMS experience a big plus
Work samples will be requested.
Work Location: Consultant must be based in Phoenix, AZ. Consultant can work from home some days.
Travel required: Ability to travel to Richmond, CA, 25%, plus other travel, totaling 50% travel.
Duration: Contract to Hire. Contractor must be interested in possibility of becoming a permanent employee. Not open to candidates who only want to do contract work.
Start: Q1, 2010. Interviews will take place in December or January
