About the Job

A small, well established Engineering Consulting firm located in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced, full-time electrical engineer able to integrate effectively with our team while working independently. The successful candidate will have experience with both Design/Bid –Build and Design-Build projects having familiarity with both domestic and international building codes. Varied projects range from overseas compounds to local historic residencies. This person will have excellent organizational skills enabling him/her to manage multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy communicating effectively with various team members from multiple companies.

Responsibilities:

Ø  Provide design for Power Distribution including electrical service, UPS system specification and backup generators.

Ø  Develop Lighting design to include interior/exterior fixtures and perform lighting level calculations.

Ø  Produce Telecommunications distribution designs having a high level of experience and knowledge of the Information Technology Systems Industry.

Ø  Create Fire Alarm System designs in both new and existing systems, addressable and conventional.

Ø  Review and enhance Security System designs for new and existing high level security systems.

Ø  Develop project specific engineering plans, schedules, calculations, and specifications.

Ø  Survey existing building conditions, domestically and internationally.

Required Qualifications:

Ø  BSEE degree or higher.

Ø  Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Visual, and related software such as EZ Power and MS Office.

Ø  Minimum 2 years’ experience in related field.

Ø  General knowledge of electrical codes (including the NEC).

Ø  U.S. Citizen

Ø  Current U.S. government security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance


Desirable Qualifications:

Ø  Security Clearance.

Ø  Proficiency in Telecommunications Design as a RCDD (Registered Communications Digital Designer).

Ø  LEED Certified.
