Health Advocates is seeking an experienced Eligibility Worker / Collector for our main office in Sherman Oaks, CA.(Please note that our offices will be relocating to Chatsworth, CA by April 2014).
This position is responsible for the timely follow up and collection efforts of TPL claims.
Essential Job Duties
Review accounts to determine merit of collection efforts
Generate and distribute claims, letters, and other relevant correspondence
Assist with settlement negotiations
Other related duties, as assigned.
Knowledge, Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Paralegal certificate preferred
Experience with TPL claims
Hospital or medical office collections department functions, operations and procedures
Settlement practices and procedures common to hospital collections
HIPAA regulations and guidelines
General clerical office practices and procedures
Type 35 wpm

Position Type: Full-time; Non-exempt
Pay rate: (depending on experience)
**Note: Applicants are required to take a Basic Office Skills, Typing tests (at least 35 wpm), and other tests such as Microsoft Excel, depending on the position. Applicants being considered for hire will be required to submit to a security background check including driver’s license check and/or ID check, if applicable.
Company Business Hours (alternative workweek schedule)
Monday – Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Friday 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
