Available Position: FSR Full-Time (40 hours/week with benefits) position at the Vista Branch
 

 

 

SUMMARY:  Responsible for the opening, processing and maintenance ofall products and services for new and existing members. Enhances member relationships through sales that are beneficial to members and to Mission Fed by using the approved sales model to achieve sales and service goals. 

 

 

KEY REPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Promotes a welcoming branch environment by providing excellent member service through sales, demonstration of technology, and products or services.  .

 

  1. Interviews potential and existing members by utilizing the skills learned in sales training courses to determine appropriate products and services which will meet their financial needs. Effectively demonstrates the various delivery services available to members, both in the branch and via remote channels. This includes, but is not limited to: Mission Link including Bill Payment service, MissionLine, Mission’s Website, ATM and Mobile Banking App.

 

  1. Practices ethical behavior when cross-selling products and/or services ensuring that they are beneficial to the member and to Mission Fed. Tracks sales and referrals when applicable, adhering to the Sales Rules. Maintains the minimum performance standards as set by Mission Fed guidelines. Participates in the Mission Fed sales program and contests.  Engages in sales meeting and training both in the branch and at corporate office.

 

  1. Ensures operational integrity by preparing documentation for new accounts, consumer loans, and real estate loans (MLO’s only) in adherence to regulatory requirements and Credit Union policy/procedures.

 

  1. Exercises sound judgment when approving items or making exceptions within approved limits. Provides overrides (when necessary) ensuring that good judgment is utilized in all situations, in order to minimize risk.

 

  1. Effectively models Mission Fed’s established service standards at all times, striving to handle each encounter in a seamless manner. Professionally answers phone calls and relays timely, complete, and accurate messages to employees. Maintains awareness of employee and management activities to ensure accurate information is communicated to callers.

 

  1. Provides additional support for all branch areas as necessary, including a working knowledge of cash machines, coin machines, and safe deposit boxes (in branches where applicable).

 

8.Resolves member complaints and follows-up or collaborates with back office departments as they arise.

 

9.Acts as a mentor and assists with the job development and cross-training of lower level employees. Promotes high morale and acts as a positive role model.

 

10.Ensures all security measures are adhered to so that member and Mission Fed assets are protected at all times.

 

11.Participates in community events and business development activities as organized by the branch or Mission Fed.

 

12.Keeps abreast of policy and procedural changes at Mission Fedincluding reading and responding to e-mails (as appropriate) in a timely manner.

 

13.Maintains in-depth knowledge of and complies with all Mission Fed, departmental and security policies and procedures, as well as, federal regulations applicable to the position, including BSA requirements. Completes all required compliance training as assigned.

 

14.Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:  High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent is required.

 

Experience: A minimum of 18 months of financial institution experience working in an incentive based sales environment is required. Additionally, must have a minimum of 6 months experience opening new accounts and loan processing, as well as accurate cash handling and computer experience is required.

 

 

COMPETENCIES:

 

Skills & Abilities: Strong human relations, listening, verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skills are required.  Must possess excellent telephone skills and have a professional appearance and demeanor. Confidentiality of member information is required.Must have the demonstrated ability to decipher/understand the content of a consumer credit report. Must possess fundamental understanding of the lending process including the calculation of debt to income ratio, loan to value ratio and underwriting. May be required to complete Notary Public Commission requirements. May be required to complete the necessary training/processes to be a registered Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO)

 

Software:  Microsoft Office Suite and Internet are required. Symitar is preferred.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

      Constant repetitive use of the hand involving simple grasping.

 

      Frequent sitting, bending of the waist, and repetitive use of the hand involving reaching below shoulder level.

 

      Occasional walking, standing, bending of the neck, squatting, kneeling, twisting (neck & waist), repetitive motion of the hand involving power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling, and reaching above shoulder level, lifting and carrying (0-25 lbs.).
