Senior Account Manager - Commercial Lines

General Purpose:

 

The position of Senior Account Manager is to be the primary contact and provider of day-to-day client service.  The Senior Account Manager will maintain and manage an existing book of clients, assist in developing new client business and respond to the requests and needs of the clients, producers and management.

 

Essential Functions:

 

¨      Maintains and manages an existing book of client accounts.

¨      Reviews new and renewal policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations and non-renewals, etc. for accuracy.

¨      Visits clients and prospective clients, as directed, to discuss coverage issues, delivers policies and/or proposals or to collect premium.

¨      Contacts client regarding outstanding receivables as requested, as well as, reviews and maintains accounting history, correcting any discrepancies.

¨      Account rounding.

¨      Responsible for setting up master certificate and overall responsibility for timely, accurate and efficient certificate delivery.

¨      Daily follow up on suspense items.

¨      Identifies client’s insurance needs, gaps in coverage and loss exposures and recommends appropriate insurance coverage to clients/prospects.

¨      Manages marketing efforts during the renewal and new business process including gathering information and reviewing applications and submissions, for accuracy and completeness.

¨      Sends new/renewal business submissions to market by time frames required.

¨      Prepares renewal proposals.

¨      Binds coverage and prepares and distributes required documents.

¨      Maintains current knowledge of commercial insurance coverage, markets and products to efficiently and competitively insure client’s exposures.

¨      Takes initial claim reports and assists clients in resolving any related issues involving the claim.

¨      Maintains accurate and complete client files.

¨      Monitors team workload for timely and accurate processing of work assigned to others.

¨      Exercises awareness in regard to possible suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior and reports any such incidents to the BSA Department and/or Internal Audit Director as appropriate.

¨      Performs job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal/state rules and regulations as applicable to the position.

¨      Other duties as assigned.

Education or Formal Training:   

 

¨      High School Diploma or equivalent.

¨      Arizona Property & Casualty or Colorado Property & Casualty insurance license required.

¨      Insurance designation or demonstration of pursuing designation and continuing education required.

 

Experience:

 

¨      Minimum fiveyearsexperience within the insurance industry, servicing and marketing of Commercial Lines P&C business.

¨      Experience with an Agency Management System for client/policy servicing preferred.

 

 

Working Environment / Physical Requirements/Activities:

 

General office environment; therefore, must have the ability to operate Company office machines/equipment with hands and the ability to use and type on computer keyboard.  Must have the physical ability to use the telephone.  Must understand questions/concerns raised by parties involved, in person and over the telephone.  Must be able to read job-related documents.  Must have the physical ability to stoop, bend and lift up to a maximum of ten pounds. Must have the ability to transport self to on-site meetings with personnel at outlying locations, as well as the ability to transport self to customer locations.
