Eaton located in Syracuse, NY has an immediate opening for a Global Lean Manager.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Global Lean Manager is accountable for the execution of the Crouse Hinds Division’s continuous improvement initiative resulting in reductions in labor and materials costs targeted at 6.5% total productivity versus prior year. This person is primarily responsible for generating and executing the division’s global ELSS (Eaton’s Lean Six Sigma) strategy with a focus on achieving 4% in cost productivity savings. Additionally, this position is considered the division’s most senior technical expert in the Lean toolset and as such provides training, expertise, and mentoring to others in driving high-impact improvement activities to support the overall productivity goals and objectives for the business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A.Develops and executes a global ELSS strategy targeted at delivering 4% cost productivity in support of the total productivity target of 6.5% of COGS.
B.Directly manages the performance of division level Lean specialists.
C.Directs and deploys the division’s ELSS Focus Plant strategy including the coordination and execution of our SHIN event strategy (RIE’s) and the development of SME’s throughout the global business.
D.Establishes divisional standards and tools for overall ELSS project execution and rigor.
E.Ensures ELSS self-assessments are completed timely and improvement plans are executed.
F.Manages monthly pulsing of activity providing regular updates to senior management and drives Integrated Deck Building with cross-functional business unit support.
G.Plans and executes training as needed to build business unit bench strength.
H.Provides in depth mentoring of business unit, plant, and event leaders to ensure program sustainability.
I.Actively seeks out best practices across the business and communicates them across the organization.

DIMENSIONS:
A.Establishes and implements the division’s plan to achieve 6.5% total productivity as part of the OPEX leadership team for the division.
B.Executes project/event workload through individual activities and by directing the activities of their staff to achieve 4% cost productivity.
C.Engages with business unit and plant leadership to continuously refresh 1- and 3-year lean transformation plans to stretch plant performance to excel against operations targets (SQDIP).
D.Develops and trains continuous improvement talent across the organization.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
A.Expert in Lean Manufacturing and experience in program management including knowledge of best practices in strategy deployment, project execution, deck building, and monitoring/pulsing.
B.Demonstrated experience training and mentoring in technical applications.
C.Strong facilitation skill set for interaction with all levels in the organization.
D.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
E.Broad knowledge of products, materials, and manufacturing processes.
F.Demonstrated experience managing effectively in a matrix organization.
G.Prior plant management, operations management, or value stream management experience.
H.Expert in the ELSS assessment process, highly knowledgeable of OpA process and criteria, and understands Eaton Business Excellence (EBE) Assessment Criteria.
I.Preferred experience driving Lean concepts in the office environment (i.e. Lean in the Office, BPI, etc.)


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
-Minimum of 5 years of lean or continuous improvement experience
-Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree from an accredited institution
