Description

The Healthcare Events Manager will be responsible for researching topics, creating content,and coordinating logistics for and attending all company sponsored client meetings and events, including breakfast/lunch group meetings and roundtables at medical conferences.  

 

Responsibilities

The Healthcare Events Manager will have the following primary duties:

 

  • Research topics of interest to investment clients and create relevant event and conference content for client events
  • Research healthcare conferences to identify and recommend client meeting dates, key topics, relevant data presentations and speakers
  • Effectively screen high level healthcare professionals (physicians, scientists, executives, etc) for knowledge  and relevance to proposed meeting topics
  • Responsible for all logistics, coordination and execution of client events including site selection, contract negotiation, travel arrangements, vendor selection, food and beverage services, invitation process etc
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals in our Advisor Network as well as Guidepoint Global clients
  • Attend weekly breakfast/lunch client meetings in NYC and 2-3 client conference events per month 
  • Develop budgets, oversee, and provide reporting on P&L for events business
  • Facilitate compliance policies and procedures for all events
  • Liaise with sales and marketing team to ensure effective meeting promotion and attendance
  • Liaise with Healthcare Director to evaluate meeting objectives and success
  • Assist with the planning of ad hoc events such as focus groups and advisory boards as needed 
  • Contribute to product development for new meeting platforms and offerings
  • Directly supervise, delegate, and manage work responsibilities of Events Associate

 

 

Preliminary Qualifications

  • Degree from a four year college with a minimum GPA of 3.0 required, science or science-related degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant work experience in events content planning preferably in the healthcare or life sciences sector is required
  • ØRelevant industry experience includes:
  • A position in investor relations,  public relations or communications  covering Healthcare/Life  Sciences
  • A position with a boutique financial firm (investment bank, private equity) producing Healthcare/Life Sciences events for relevant clients
  • A position at a conference production firm with a focus on content, strategy and growing industry 
  •    relationships
  • Broad base knowledge of the healthcare and life sciences industry required
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic areas, biotech and pharmaceutical companies, clinical trials, drug approval procedures, and regulatory issues in order to facilitate research
  • Ability to travel domestically 30% of time,  some weekend and international travel required
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both verbally and textually
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team atmosphere
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Previous management/supervisory experience is preferred
