The Complete Logistics Company (CLC) is an asset based, third party logistics provider specializing in all phases of transportation and supply chain management.  We are currently looking for an HR Generalist.The skills and or experience required for this position is described below:

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the HR Generalist will implement policies, programs, and procedures.  This individual will inform management and employees on questions or problems relating to human resource related matters. They will be skilled in compensation, benefits, employment, staffing, employee relations, training, and safety. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

 

       Serves as a consultant to management on Human Resources related issues.

       Develops strong trusting relationship in order to gain support and achieve results.

       Ability to learn HRIS System (i.e. Ceridian).

       Assists in benefits administration.

       Assists in health and welfare plans. 

       Processes required documents through payroll to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions. 

       Assists in annual open enrollment each year.

       Assists in distribution of materials from carriers.

       Assists with communicating changes to employees and on-site representation by providers.

       Conducts employee presentations.

       Processes changes withindeadline.

       Ensures employees understand the benefits programs by generating communication and counseling employees/dependents as situations arise. 

       Resolves employee complaints related to health and welfare plans.

       Acts as a resource for supervisors/management to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefit and HR policies and regulations.

       Keeps management advised of potential problem areas and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate.

       Counsels employees on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed benefit decisions.

       Performs recruitment activities, interviews, and evaluates candidates for select positions within the Fontana location.

       Maintains records related to same.

       Performs job fairs. 

       Writes and places advertisements.

       Responsible for New hire process for entire company, including benefits overview.

       In addition, responsible for recruiting Independent Contractors, (i.e., Owner Operators).

       Distributes and accepts applications.

       Assists in maintaining the Applicant Log.

       Ensures documents are fully completed and reference checks are performed.

       Ensures background checks and behavioral assessmentsare administered.

       Ensures medical exams, drug/alcohol testing, and road tests are performed and all paperwork is submitted for all driver applicants.

       Reviews all new hires from entire company prior to presenting to management for hiring approval.

       Once new hire is approved, inputs data into Ceridian system.

       Assists Regional Manager in Fontana with orientation of new hires.

       Prepare paperwork for all company terminations and sends records to Corporate Human Resources for disposition.

       Conducts employee counseling for citations and DMV pull notices.

       Tracks the delivery of counseling to ensure signed counseling’s are filed in personnel file.

       Responsible for the Pre-Pass Program, which includes maintaining inventory, making changes (add, remove, transfer), reviewing bill for accuracy, coding, and advances for payment.

       Responsible for maintaining the drug/alcohol testing program as per DOT regulations.

       Assists in employee activities, events, appreciation, acknowledgements, customer luncheons, etc.

       Back-up support for Safety Administrator and Director of Human Resources.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

      The HR Generalist position supervises the Human Resources Assistant. 

QUALIFICATIONS

      Must possess a valid state drivers license.

      Communication:  Must have very strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build personal relationships.

      Client Skills:  Understands client needs, anticipates changes, responds appropriately, offers solutions and has the ability to understand customer needs and appropriate solutions.

      Relationship Skills:  Works effectively with clients and internal team members to collaborate, analyze and offer effective solutions, protecting relationships and CLC's interest.

      Computer Skills:  Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point.

      U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

      A bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience, ORSeven (7) years of experience in the HR field, OR any similar combination of education and experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

      Ability to read and interpret Spanish documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write complex reports and correspondence.

      Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

      Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

      Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

      License:  Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, preferred.
