Purpose of the position/Job Summary:  

Responsible for the receipt, validation, transfer and archival of imaging data from national, international, and internal research centers. Tasks include controlling and moving data through a quality assurance program while tracking issues and communications generated as part of that process.

Scope & Impact:

The Imaging Data Associate plays in integral role in the day to day conductance of image receipt, transfer and management. This position is critical to establishing and maintaining data integrity from initial receipt to external transfer..

Major Responsibilities:

  • Communications with individuals from research and image-processing centers
  • Maintenance of computer files (image data) and associated logs
  • Transfer of large image-based data files between remote sites
  • Management of tracking logs
  • Creation of documents (i.e. memos, Excel-logs)
  • Transcription of data between operating systems and archive media
  • Resolve transfer errors and permission access privileges
  • Provide status reports at weekly meetings
  • Ensure timelines for data transmission are met
  • Ensure adherence to image format protocol / guidelines
  • Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by supervisor 

Qualifications: 

  • Required:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a computer-related field
    • Familiar with Windows, Linux, MacOS operating systems,
    • Understand file transfer methods like FTP and data archive methods
    • Possess strong written and verbal skills for effectively communicating with departmental staff and remote research centers,
    • Be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills,
    • Have relevant experience that exhibits organizational capabilities,
    • Be process focused for ensuring efficient follow-through of internal procedures,

 

  • Preferred:
    • Familiarity with radiological images and DICOM
    • Familiar with setting up and operating data-transfer servers
