Network Designer II

The Network Designer II is responsible for the adding all designs efficiently and accurately to the database and is responsible for the overall accuracy of the design database including both Coax and Fiber related designs.  The Network Designer II is responsible for monitoring orders and a customer request through the process to make sure those due dates are achieved and for providing reports from the various databases as requested by management.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Drafting, Civil, Architectural or Electrical Engineering - required
  • Bachelor Degree in Drafting, Civil, or Electrical Engineering - preferred
  • Four years AutoCAD software advanced drafting knowledge and experience - required
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel - required
  • Previous experience in Communication Network Design - required
  • Keyboarding/Typing - required


Unix System Administrator

The Unix System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and documentation of hardware and operating systems software on all servers (Unix, Linux, Windows, etc.) within the revenue generating High Speed Data Services and Information Technology networks.


Minimum requirements include:

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline (IT, CIS, MIS, and EET) - required;
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited University - preferred
  • 2 years IP network technical experience - required
  • 1 year of direct Unix/Linux server technical experience - required
  • Solid understanding of domain registrations, DNS, and domain propagation & resolution- required
  • Understanding of the setup and troubleshooting of web sites - required
  • Linux/UNIX system administration (95%) - preferred
  • Windows system administration (5%) - preferred
  • Security-minded, seeking to implement best practices, yet pragmatic - preferred
  • DevOps, Puppet, or similar configuration management - required
  • Virtualization – VMWare, etc… - preferred
  • Network, server and performance monitoring - preferred
  • Disaster Recovery and replication - preferred
  • SAN configuration and management - preferred
  • Heartbeat/Linux-HA clustering - preferred


VoIP Engineer II

The VoIP Engineer II is a position of considerable relevant technical knowledge. This position is responsible for performing VoIP provisioning, configuration and Tier III technical support. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: testing, installation, implementation and maintenance of Voice over IP architecture and configurations. In this position, the engineer will serve as a VoIP technical expert, assisting with root cause analysis/problem resolution, supporting infrastructure and technological change control process, and working with Sales Engineers and key business partners to ensure availability and performance of various VoIP platforms. Successful candidates will work closely and communicate with a variety of clients, LAN vendors and other vendors for requirements gathering/analysis and revising and enhancing system technology. The VoIP Engineer II will be responsible for assisting with analyzing test results for measuring VoIP signaling performance/ QoS across a wide range of hardware platforms and deployment scenarios.


Minimum Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Science Engineering – required
  • Extensive knowledge of basic electrical principals and programming theory
  • Working knowledge of Linux Operating system –  intermediate required
  • 4 years Advance knowledge of technical IP networking and architectures – required
  • Advanced Bash-Scripting/Shelling programming – preferred
  • Knowledge of cable and IP-Telephony protocols (SIP, MGCP, Packet Cable, H.323, H.248, RTP/RTCP, IP Routing, Security and Qos) – required
  • 2 years technical experience with enterprise IP telephony, PBX, Voice/unified Messaging and telecom switching – required
  • 2 years’ experience with DOCSIS-base VoIP implementations – preferred
  • Certifications: CCNA, CCNP or CCVP or the equivalent in relevant practical work experience – required
