The opportunity

We are looking for an Analyst, Project Controlling based in our Salt Lake City office to assist us in the on-going operation and continued improvement of our project control services project planning and scheduling, project health checks, assisting in demand management, standards and tools as well as project status and health reporting across an interesting range of global IT applications and infrastructure related projects.

What the role entails

This position is suited to a collaborative, project orientated IS&T professional, who is looking to for a role where they can not only operate to existing processes, standards and tools but also take responsibility for reviewing, challenging and helping us to enhance and align those processes, standards and tools.  We operate in a fast paced and sophisticated project delivery environment where the Project Controller is expected to act as a partner to the Project Manager.  Reporting to the Manager, Project Control, you will be required to;

  • Work with Project Managers, Team Leaders and other Stakeholders to construct MS Project schedules within a sophisticated Project Server environment that is integrated with a number of specialised delivery support applications;
  • On an on-going basis maintain the MS Project schedules of in-flight Projects with actuals and re-forecasts;
  • Pro-actively support Project Managers in monitoring, analysing and managing the status and health of in-flight Projects;
  • Provide a range of progress, status and health reports incorporating schedule and financial status, earned value metrics;
  • Provide on-going support in relation to Project invoicing and related master data;
  • Review, advise upon and help implement enhancements to existing project control standards, processes and tools;
  • Proactively identify issues, risks and suggested mitigations/ actions as well as opportunities to improve and work with the appropriate Stakeholder.

 

To succeed in this challenging and impactful role, you will have;

  • Strong experience in using MS Project preferably in a Project Server environment;
  • Solid experience in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
  • Deep project controlling expertise and solid understanding of project performance measurement techniques, especially Earned Value Management;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated exposure working in an IT global/multinational, diversified corporation;
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, in multiple regions across time-zones;
  • A strong focus on HSE and building customer relationships;
  • A working knowledge of PRINCE2 or PMBOK project management frameworks (desirable).
