IT Project Manager

About the Job

We are working with an Atlanta area Fortune 500 client staffing a contract for a number of project managers with  3-10+ years of project management experience.  Candidates should have experience PMP certification and have experience managing large enterprise  full SDLCsoftware development  projects with budgets in excess of $1M. Extensive experience with project financial management and budgeting is required. Candidates must be very comfortable large fast paced matrix  projects and giving formal presentations to senior management. Domain experience in e commerce, supply chain, business intelligence  or retail applications are strongly desired. Many of these positions have the potential to become full time. 

The purpose of the position is to manage and drive to completion all project work assigned. This position will primarily be responsible for the project management activities of multiple projects. The resource will update status of work being done, follow up with Change control with appropriate paperwork, and will communicate activities to project resources and the IT Management. The consultant will provide effective management & direct several teams of associates in the planning and execution of IT projects. This is accomplished by applying or ensuring the application of a standard, defined methodology to the project, and providing the leadership skills necessary to control the execution of the project tasks, as defined in the methodology. Responsible for delivering several key project artifacts, and shares responsibility and accountability with the project leadership team for the successful delivery of the entire project. Works cross-functionally with end-user groups, business partners, vendors, development groups, architects, and service managers to ensure that new applications meet the practical needs of the company and are delivered successfully.
