Career Level: Entry Level to Experienced (Non-Manager)

Salary: $40,000 - $45,000/year


Job Description:


This position will be responsible for basic laboratory functions such as sample preparation, quality control testing, analytical testing, material evaluation and data recording/entry.As well, this individual will assist and support research and development projects for new innovative product lines and will report directly to the Technical Director/Vice President and CEOThis technical position will offer opportunities for growth inside the company as a key position and requires ahighly motivated individual willing to take on a broad range of important responsibilities. 




       Knowledge and experience in a general laboratory setting

       Education and training in a science related field such as chemistry, physical sciences, material sciences or polymers

       Proficiency in computers, data acquisition, data/statistical analysis and results reporting

       Knowledge and experience of DSC, Rheology or Particle Size Analysis is preferred

       Ability to multitask and exhibit exceptional organizational skills

       Ability to effectively communicate observations, results of experiments and testing details

       Work as a team player and also manage projects alone when required

       Confidentiality, ethics and integrity




       Prepare samples for testing using laboratory protocol and methods

       Conduct Quality Control testing and approve incoming raw materials

       Perform all necessary properties testing on production materials following specified procedures

       Perform DSC, rheology and particle size analysis using scientific instruments

       Verification of calibration on laboratory equipment

       Record and maintain documents such as QC forms, Certificates of Analysis and MSDS’s

       Cleaning of laboratory glassware and equipment with organic and chlorinated solvents

       Assist in early small scale production and/or plant trial batches

       Assist in research and development efforts for bringing new products to market
