The Lead Java/J2EE Programmer Analyst designs, develops, and maintains large-scale, complex, highly visible web projects. This individual is also responsible for providing technical leadership within the development team and proposing innovative solutions to technical issues.
Responsibilities include: Engineers the next generation of Cablevision's customer-facing web sites. Creates technical specifications and technical architecture documentation. Participates in the discovery process of projects, and provides strategic/technical input on requirements documentation and other project documentation. Writes code / participates in the development effort. Conducts full quality assurance testing prior to submitting work. Assists in maintaining existing software. Researches and stay up to date on new technologies, and recommends and utilizes new functionality when possible. Proposes innovative solutions when technical issues arise during the development effort. Shares best practices and technical knowledge with Programmers / Analysts as appropriate, and performs periodic code reviews. Participates in project planning sessions (sprint planning sessions, creation of work breakdown structures, etc.). Ensures that development is aligned with technical and architectural standards, and satisfies business requirements. Identifies project risks/issues and proposes mitigation strategies.
Qualified candidates for the Lead Programmer Analyst position will have a minimum of 9 years of Java/J2EE systems analysis and programming experience, including having served as a Lead Developer on customer-facing web sites. A minimum of 6 years of experience in full software project lifecycle including all stages of design, development and implementation of custom applications, as well as, the deployment of packaged solutions. Experience in application development utilizing a relational database such as Cassandra, MySQL or Oracle. Demonstrated delivery of work on-time and within budget. Well educated in open source technologies, responsive designs, e-commerce, content management and personalization/targeting
Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred, minimum of 60 College credits required or military experience or technical/trade school certification.
