Lead Maintenance Mechanic

The Lead Maintenance Mechanic must have general knowledge in all phases of line equipment operations, safety, and repair. Mechanic should have a general understanding of electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills. Must be committed to reaching all production requirements. This position requires the ability to work any shift as directed by management. Must have the ability to work weekends, holidays and overtime to cover all production needs as directed by management. Must be able to work and communicate with all Supervisors, Machine Attendants, Machine Operators, Forklift Operators, and Managers, to ensure the highest possible production and efficiencies are being meet. Must be able to adjust and respond to down equipment in a timely manner.

Role & Responsibilities:

Understand and comply with all HACCP processes and procedures.
Ability to understand all line machinery and controls.
General mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
Knowledge of frequency drives (Programming) and PLC controls (Troubleshooting)
Knowledge of general industrial electricity-110V, 220V, and 480V three phase.
Possess working electrical diagnostic equipment common to field.
Navigate HMI's to diagnose error codes and faults.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment safely.
Read and understand equipment manuals and drawings.
Report all parts taken from inventory for reordering to the Parts Coordinator.
Work effectively and remain calm in all situations.
Must have the ability to work independently of direct supervision.
Perform necessary changeovers of line equipment in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot line equipment and make necessary repairs to keep it running as required.
Knowledge in Compressors, Dryers, Boiler Systems, and Controls.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facility to keep them in top working condition.
Responsible for startup after changeover.

Requirements:
Must have good knowledge in the proper use of hand tools.
Must understand and comply with LO/TO procedures.
Must follow direction from department Supervisor, or Manager.
Must follow all company and departmental safety policies.
Must maintain a working radio at all times.

Education:
Must have minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 2 yrs. verifiable mechanical/electrical experience or coursework.

Hair Net and Beard Net in accordance to company guidelines.
Comply with company policy on LO/TO procedures.

Physical abilities required:
Ability to lift 40 lbs. occasionally
Work in awkward positions for small periods of time.
Work on ladders and elevated platforms.
Spend extended periods of time standing and walking.
Carry personal tool pouch.
