Litigation Legal Secretary

This position provides executive administrative support to the Practice Group Leader as well as legal support to an Associate Attorney in the long-term care defense litigation practice. This position performs standard legal secretarial tasks as well as administrative duties include opening files, preparing status and audit reports, creating PowerPoint presentations, preparing expense reimbursements, making travel arrangements, and reviewing prebills.
High school diploma or equivalent. College, business school, or othercontinuing education preferred.
Legal secretarial experience required, preferably working with a Practice Group Leader, Department Head, or other partner-in-charge responsible for the administration of a practice group. Litigation experience required.
Ability to organize and prioritize workload, efficiently handle multiple projects, and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines. Able to anticipate what needs done and take charge of administrative/executive responsibilities. Able to demonstrate flexibility and initiative, and anticipate what needs to be done. Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent client service. Strong secretarial skills including typing, dictation, proofreading, spelling, grammar, and math. Knowledge of MS Office Suite applications, especially MS Word. Knowledge of e-filing in various local courts strongly preferred. Can understand and follow specific, detailed instructions. Attentive to detail and highly accurate. Professional manner with clients, attorneys, and others.
