Linux Systems Administrator
About the Job
We are Connexin Software, the leading provider of electronic medical records and practice management systems for use in pediatric clinical settings, located in Horsham, PA. Due to our rapid growth, we are seeking a System Administration individual to take charge of the day to day administration of internal and hosted networks.
The ideal candidate will have a high degree of initiative, strong work ethic, be able to create and maintain strong relationships with individuals on various teams who have differing levels of technical skills.

Responsibilities
- Administer Linux servers, including software installation, storage administration/disk space management, backups/restores, troubleshooting performance issues, and capacity management and planning.
- Independently troubleshoot and successfully resolve complex problems.
- Day-to-day maintenance of all servers.
- Write and maintain technical documentation
- Lead projects to improve the operation and reliability of the environment.
- On-call support during off hours.
- Mentoring staff in technical and procedural best practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in information technology, MIS, computer science, or a related field.
- Proficient provisioning and managing virtual machines within VMware vCenter.
- 2+ years experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration.
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux scripting (Powershell, VBS, Bash, Perl, or Python).
- Experience managing at least one RDBMS (we use Firebird and MySQL), including adding and removing users, backups/restores, and performance tuning.
- Working knowledge of switching, routing, VLAN’s, firewalls, and VPN connections.
- Familiarity managing Java based web applications preferred but not required.
