Summary of Opportunity
CUSO Mortgage Inc. (NMLS # 226752), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wescom Credit Union, has an exciting opportunity for a Loan Officer to service the IE and San Bernardino area. The Loan Officer is responsible for the origination of residential first mortgage loan products in an assigned geographical area. It is a sales job which strives to meet volume goals and provide superior levels of customer service.
Main Job Responsibilities:
Sources and originates first trust mortgage loans from Realtors, assigned Wescom branches, financial planners, investment advisors and other affinity relationships in an assigned territory. Duties include assisting borrowers with loan applications, credit qualification, loan programs, pricing and previewing loan scenarios.
Develops and maintains effective and productive relationships in the assigned territory by promoting high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
Achieves production volume goals while ensuring that only investment quality loans are originated for sale in the secondary mortgage market.
Builds and maintains effective and productive relationships with CMI operations staff and other internal departments and Wescom branch personnel. Stays updated on CMI policies, procedures and products.
Two (2) or more years experience in real estate lending as a Loan Officer. Origination experience in FHA products including reverse mortgage product (HECM) is required. Must posess an NMLS Iicence or in the process of obtaning one.
High school degree is required. Bachelor of Science degree in a related field (e.g., business, finance, accounting, marketing, etc.) is preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Requires knowledge of real estate lending. Knowledge and experience with the residential real estate loan origination process, including processing, underwriting, pricing, documentation, disclosures and web-based loan applications. First trust mortgage loans (fixed-rate and adjustable), home equity loans and home equity lines of credit.
Business development and sales expertise.
Good written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
Organized, self-starter and team-oriented.
Ability to travel via personal automobile and work a flexible schedule, including Saturdays and Sundays.
If working remotely from home, able to plan each day for optimum productivity with minimal supervision.
Effective human relations skills in order to maintain positive and productive working relationships with all CUSO Mortgage departments.
Attends meetings with peers, participates in in-house training, self-studies, outside seminars and classes.
Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with Prime Alliance, Desktop Underwriter and Calyx Point loan origination systems is preferred.
