Machine Operator Responsible for interpreting print drawings to manufacture/fabricate quality parts with blueprints containing multiple views and sections. Ability to set-up and operate all ship equipment in the cut group as required.. Knowledge of a wide range of materials and machines. Knowledge of proper cut, speed and feed rates on machines operated.
Duties: 1. Understand all symbols and notations on blueprints, ability to do layout work as needed. 2. Set-up and operation of saws. 3. Set-up and operation of shears. 4. Set-up and operation of press brakes. 5. Set-up and operation of drills. 6. Set-up and operation of tapping machine. 7. Set-up and operation of Welding. 8. Maintenance as needed on all ship equipment in the cut group. 9. Label and mark all machined parts as needed for further operations. 10. Arrives to meetings, appointments and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled.
Special Requirements: • Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally. • Standing for long periods of time. • Manual dexterity, visual acuity. • Work overtime as work schedules demand.
Education: High School or G.E.D. • Welding trade school training or equivalent
Certification Requirements: • Certification in Welding
Knowledge Requirements: • Requires knowledge of welding machines and welding, basic hand tools, and all phases of fabrication to include saws, brake press, shears, drills, tapping, assembly, and layout work. • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of fabrication.
