Manager, Web Development

About the Job

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Web Development is responsible for the production, development, and maintenance of web applications for NACUBO websites. Under the direction and guidance of the Director, Information Technology, the Manager, Web Development, will coordinate and facilitate the ongoing development of the NACUBO Web applications and other web-related deliverables. In this role, the incumbent will interact and collaborate with team members and other NACUBO staff on web development issues.

The candidate should have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience and have strong knowledge of HTML, DHTML, CSS, ASP.NET, Flash, CGI, Java-scripting, SQL, XML, and web services. Candidate should demonstrate proficiency with Responsive Web Development and MVC framework. Other areas of responsibility include application development design support including creation of UI workflow, icons and images and marketing design support. Experience developing in a Content Management Platform environment required (i.e. Word Press, Drupal, etc.,).

            

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Responsible for web development efforts across multiple websites varying in size and overseeing web development projects from start to finish.

  • Initiates collaboration across the association concerning the design and development of web-based applications.

  • Manages the development and implementation of interfaces for future web-user interaction and online applications. Adds new functionality to the web site based on technology that will be identified and acquired in the future.

  • Responsibilities may include maintaining and updating existing websites, performing regular (and/or when changes are launched) QA testing for websites; developing, maintaining, and optimizing static and dynamic websites when the Senior Manager, Web Design and Development is not available.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technology or business-related major, Web Developer Certificate, or equivalent work experience required.  Three to four years application/web development experience required.

  • Three to five years’ experience and strong knowledge of content management systems, HTML, DHTML, CSS, ASP.NET, Flash, CGI, Java-scripting, SQL, XML, and web services.  Mustbe adept at writing HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, and javascript.

  • Requires proficiency with Responsive Web Development and MVC framework.

  • Strong project management skills, high level of attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of creating mixed media content is desirable but not required (i.e., video editing, post-production and motion graphics).

  • Applied knowledge of both agile, iterative, and waterfall web development process, as well as demonstrated abilities to write and follow technical requirements, data schemas, and data descriptions.

  • Ability to accurately estimate the web development scope and effort required to complete final web development project.

  • Required knowledge of browser compatibility issues and platform characteristics.

  • Business experience with CRM, broadcast messaging, or Association Management Software solutions a plus but not required.

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently to handle tight deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to move about the office as well as sit for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to use the phone and computer.

  • Some travel may be required.
