Position/Level               Salaried Design Engineer/Experienced (3 years or more)

Opening Location          Erie, PA

Description/Duties         Position activities include but not limited to…

1-preliminary vessel engineering per ASME Section VIII

2-prepared vessel manufacturing drawings with AutoCAD

3-digitally model and perform non-linear FEA on vessel assemblies with SolidWorks/Simulation and ANSYS software

4-prepare digital engineering design reports using MSOffice suite of applications

5-assist Erie staff with purchase orders, invoices, Code updates and office computer network management and changes

Qualifications/Skills        Credentials and capabilities including but not limited to…

1-professional engineering registration (current or in-process)

2-education pertaining to structural and/or mechanical engineering, engineering mechanics, physics, mathematics

3-continuing education pertaining to structural analysis and application of FEA software

Supplementary Skills      Skills and/or experience complementary for this position…

1-advanced degree in related technical discipline

2-ability to produce results working remotely and/or independently from AIP staff

3-experience with ASME pressure vessel “design by analysis” methods

Miscellaneous               Extra needs and abilities

1-independent travel to customer locations and/or headquarters office on an infrequent schedule

2-ability to learn and apply up-to-date engineering practices, ASME Code practices, vacuum and pressure piping and fitting design, threaded connection analyses, equipment support stand design per customer location requirements

3-application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing for machine part and assembly drawings

4-independently solve engineering challenges with remote customers and AIP staff by phone and internet
