About the Job

Utilities Employees Credit Union (UECU) is a private financial institution that is available to the employees, and families, of specific corporations.  We have proudly served our members (customers) for over 70 years, during which time we have established a reputation for providing superior service and financial benefits. Referrals and word of mouth have grown our membership totals to over 33,000, and reaching across the country.  Our unique style has allowed us to serve our membership from one office in Berks County, Pennsylvania with complete confidence in security and unparalleled savings and personal attention, unhindered by physical or geographic barriers.

An independent research firm surveyed our members, who’ve rated their satisfaction with our service to them as # 1 in the county.  UECU recognizes that it takes a special group of people to consistently deliver this level of service, as well as many other achievements that happen behind the scenes.  An environment has been molded to support, reward, and develop this team.  Based upon employee surveys and testimonials recognizing this, UECU has just been named one of the Best Places to Work for in PA for the past 3 years.

There is now an opportunity for a qualified individual to join this exceptional group and company.  We are seeking candidates for a full-time Member Services Representative position.  These dedicated individuals work in our fast-paced CallCenter environment assisting our members with all of their financial needs and questions.  This varies from transferring funds or issuing withdrawal checks to helping a member determine if a new product or service is beneficial for them.

Assist members over the phone with account changes and updates.

Provide members with accurate product and service information and assist them in the completion of required paperwork.

Balance transactions daily, handling cash and checks received in accordance with policy and procedure.

Maintain an awareness of products and new service opportunities with members.  Proactively participate in the cross selling of credit union products and services and actively refer to Sales Department.

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 6 months customer service experience, familiarity with credit unions’ or similar financial institutions’ products and operations, excellent verbal and listening skills, and an attention to detail.  Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.  Strong PC skills are required, particularly in MS Office applications; experience working in customer accounts within financial institution software is extremely helpful.
