Job Description
Windows Systems Administrator
BC forward is seeking a Windows Server Admin for a local client in Indianapolis.
Duties:
Participates in business-critical projects to plan, design, implement, and manage nationwide corporate Windows and VMware virtual server environment. Supports hardware and operating systems: Windows Server 2003 and 2008. Citrix and VMware ESX server. Server hardware platform is a mixture of HP and Cisco blade technologies. Responsibilities include searching, evaluating, recommending, implementing and supporting new technology to meet business requirements. Works closely with vendors, other technology departments and clients. Will be responsible for server build processes, from initial deployment and production certification to end of life decommissioning. Will participate in quarterly patching process, as well as out of band emergency hotfixes released by Microsoft. Will participate on 24x7 on call rotation. Will participate in biannual disaster recovery drill, held locally at the Client's location.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be familiar with Active Directory and Windows user access procedures
Must be familiar with backup/restore/disaster recovery procedures
Must be familiar with Sallie Mae change management procedures
Must be familiar with fiber HBA / SAN technologies
Must be familiar with Windows disk management: adding, expanding, reclaiming
5 years experience with Windows Server 2003, 2 years experience with Windows 2008
5 years experience with TCP/IP, Ethernet, other basic Windows/VM networking technologies
2 years experience with blade/chassis/server technologies
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with Opsware and Service Desk
Experience with VMWare ESX
