Outstanding cross-training opportunity!My client, headquartered in Atlanta, creates mapping software and mobile devices for the transit industry. Company has grown from 10 people in 2000 to 65 in 2006 to over 130 in 2012!
As part of their growth, they seek an experienced, hard-core firmware programmer, knowledgeable of devices, drivers, multithreading/race conditions, interfaces, etc., to design and build component-based systems that allow for portability and extendability of the company's software offerings across multiples devices (e.g., Galaxy Tablets, Blackberry's, Androids, WinCE devices), platforms and code bases. Most of this work is for dedicated devices communicating with company's backend software.
The firm is willing to cross-train a compentent C developer into Java!! This becomes a rare opportunity, then, to expand your C/device skills while increasing your knowledge base in programming, layering and abstraction.
