About the Job

Hale and Hearty is NYC's premier upscale, quick serve lunch spot, featuring the BEST soups (made from scratch!), delicious sandwiches, and tossed to order salads.  We currently have 31 locations in New York, with more on the way, including Boston!  We are rapidly expanding and are looking for an individual with a passion for food, attention to detail and lots of energy to join our team as Product Development Manager

Product Development Manager

Reports to Director of Store Development

Core Responsibilities

1. Research & Development

  • research options for newly assigned initiatives
  • conduct competitor research and surveys
  • present options and recommendations on each assisgnment, comparing quality, price analysis, and other relevant factors
  • plan & lead supplier meetings
  • actively contribute to store development strategy and initiatives

 

2. Organization & Administration

  • plan and coordinate all activities related to new product development
  • develop timelines and critical paths for new initiatives
  • administer all store support materials
  • prepare launch presentations and support materials to operations team
  • attend and document minutes from food development and supplier meetings

 

3. Communication & Execution

  • work collaboratively with internal teams including Food Development, Store Development, Marketing, Operations, and Wholesale where relevant
  • communicate and follow up with all external partners on a regular basis, as needed
  • proactively consider all issues that could arise
  • collaborate with the Training Department and champion the execution of initiatives at store level
  • actively
  • communicate research and project status to partners

The ideal candidate MUST have strong planning & organizational skills, great attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, retail savvy, knowledge of IT systems and Microsoft office programs, a passion for excellence, be a team player, possess a sense of humor, and above all, love food! Minimum of 2 years restaurant management experience, including knowledge of product and recipe development.
