General Manager - Cement Operations

    JOB DESCRIPTION

     

    Plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of Ulaanbaatar’s largest cement company. Responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, negotiations with raw material suppliers and contractors, and managing sales.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Plan, develop, and execute best practices and formulate policies and procedures
    • Monitor the progress of production activities and define plans of action to ensure meeting predetermined scheduleand budget targets
    • Manage and direct crews and subcontractors
    • Oversee operations on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that work is done safely, on time and within budget and to theright quality standards.
    • Coordinate the activities of the business, including sourcing of raw materials, cement production, and sales
    • Conduct regular inspections of site, monitor progress, oversee delivery of materials and carry out safety checks
    • Prepare quotations and negotiating price for materials, works and solutions

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to implement best practices and formulate policies and procedures
    • Extensive knowledge of the cement industry
    • Decision-making and problem solving skills are a must
    • Strong self-motivation, detail-oriented and able to work independently under pressure.
    • Proficiency of verbal and written communication in English and Chinese
    • Strong people management skills and team management experience
    • Ability to motivate others to deliver

APIP also operates the country’s largest real estate agency and owns a portfolio of high-yielding properties outside UB. As an adjunct to its real estate business, APIP owns Mongolia’s third largest cement producer, the only cement crushing plant in Ulaanbaatar. The company is also involved in financial services and mining exploration. The company is planning an IPO on an international stock exchange within the next 12-18 months.

     

    COMPENSATION

    Compensation will include a salary in USD commensurate with experience, plus bonus. The successful candidate will be eligible for the company stock option plan after one year of service with the firm.
