Paper Engineering and Maintenance Mananger

Our client is a provider of paper to retailers. It helps customers strengthen brands and capture market share. It is an active corporate citizen in the communities where it has facilities.


Position Overview:

The Paper Engineering and Maintenance Manager reports to the Mill Manager.  This company has a need for world-class engineer to lend the engineering staff, maintenance crews and programs. This engineer will be responsible for the building, grounds, energy, projects, preventative maintenance and budgets.




·        LEADERSHIP:

o   Develop teams in areas of safety, environment, production, quality and mill efficiencies

o   Coach teams in area of human resources and employee relations

o   Assess the needs of team members

o   Communicate positively to other departments

o   Maintain shift personnel records and execute performance evaluations

o   Approve employee time through the payroll system

o   Conduct pre-shutdown  meetings



o   Recognize and correct equipment problems and reduce downtime

o   Develop new procedures and guidelines

o   Maximize Resources

o   Develop cost savings

o   Insure quality and production

o   Develop vendors and contractors

o   Reduce defects and complaints


o   Maintain training on safety.

o   Do safety investigations a needed

o   Improve mill housekeeping

o   Develop new safe work practices

o   Promote team audits

o   Update crews on new environmental and safety rules 

·        Project Management

o   Improve shutdowns and start ups

o   Maintain budgets

o   Insure environmental and safety standards



Required Qualifications:

·        BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required

·        At least 5 years of maintenance background with supervisory experience

·        Paper industry experience

·        Proficient in computer skills, specifically Excelas well as various database software

·        Strong Organizational skills required

·        Knowledge of  MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

·        Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance programs

·        Knowledge of mill software and systems

·        Knowledge of technical operations and maintenance manuals, procedures, schematics, and blueprints 

·        Ability to learn, trouble shoot and optimize manufacturing process

·        Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain self-disciplined

·        Ability to work safely in an industrial setting and lead and participate in all company safety programs

·        Ability to work within and direct teams 

·        Ability to troubleshooting well and be a self-starter
