About the Job

Position: Pharma Experienced, Director of Creative Experiences (Marketing emphasis)

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Salary: $90,000 - $99,000 base, plus basic benefit package

About the Position

The Director, Creative Experiences will be viewed as the "creative strategist" for all client-focused and internal deliverables and will be responsible for providing long term direction and leadership to the creative team.

The Director, Creative Services will need a strong background in print and digital media, strong working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, and experience in material execution and management.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of copywriters, editors, and graphic designers as they create client and internal deliverables. Provide creative and managerial guidance/feedback on work product and advise on areas for improvement or growth
  • Prioritize work based on capabilities and capacity (assessment of work load, quote hours, review utilization, manage scoped hours and budget, etc.)
  • Collaborate with iteams to understand client objectives. Brainstorm and pitch ideas as it relates to design challenges, innovation and development
  • Manage content development process, including copy writing as required. Establish copy standards for consistent delivery throughout our engagement with clients
  • Review all text in assigned projects to improve consistency and readability while understanding audience, tone, and purpose of the materials
  • Provide strong creative and strategic expertise to improve overall effectiveness of existing work products and processes
  • Responsible for quality control within the team
  • Manage resource needs of the creative team. Implement staffing solutions as needed; i.e. manage freelance team
  • Accountable for on time, on budget delivery of client creative materials
  • Responsible to develop new concept work from ideation through final delivery
  • Prepare or revise presentations to ensure maximum effectiveness
  • Simplify complex data and processes into clear, concise communications that effectively achieve client results/goals
  • Responsible to introduce & integrate industry trends into the group (structure and roles needed, skill and competencies, technology, etc.) both now and to prepare for future growth of team and expanded services
  • Act as “player/coach” to both lead the work and do the work

Necessary Skills & Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Public Relations, Journalism or related field required
  • 5+ years’ experience in team management, leadership role
  • Experience in pharmaceutical company in marketing dept. or extensive pharma-related agency work required
  • Familiarity - have used Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (preferred)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Obvious, proven industry experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical/life sciences
  • Documented management skills with references
  • Ability to delegate and work cross functionally with multiple departments
  • Strong project management skills, an understanding that the buck stops here!
  • Highly adaptable, flexible, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks while working in a fast paced environment
  • Detail oriented, highly accurate, and strong organizational and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with both AP and CMS writing styles
  • Some travel required
