Job description:







XtremIO, part of EMC’s Emerging Technology and Products Division, builds a mission critical enterprise storage system. The Solutions Architect team is a small team of experts reporting to the XtremIO CTO, focusing on exploring and building early-stage, differentiated solutions that truly leverage XtremIO’s unique capabilities. It is tasked with taking risks and thinking out of the box.





We are looking for candidates to help us build solutions in specific high-value areas:




· VDI — Citrix and MS Hyper-V




· Server virtualization




· Oracle OLTP




· Microsoft SQL Server OLTP




· Epic database server




· Software development/test




· Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery/Backup and Restore technologies




Position based in Santa Clara, CA.







Principal Duties







· Explore and build early-stage, differentiated solutions that truly leverage XtremIO’s unique capabilities




· Work closely with other groups within XtremIO – R&D, Global Services, Corporate Sales Engineering, GTM, and Product Marketing




· Be the subject matter expert and the ultimate go-to person in a number of important XtremIO use cases




· Develop artifacts and assets such as solution briefs, white papers, solution decks and other materials that influence how we implement solutions leveraging the unique qualities of the XtremIO all flash array




· Deliver solution presentations to sales team and customers




· Interact with other ETPD teams, EMC X-BU, technology partners, Core GTM, and customers




· Help with complex customer POCs, troubleshoot field issues in relationship with specific solutions







Required skill set:







· At least 7 years of experience as software engineer, solution architect, professional service engineer, sales engineer or equivalent roles




· At least 5 years of experience authoring solutions architectures, customer-facing designs and complex end-to-end field solutions




· Fast learner, brilliant, creative, “hands-on”, team-player




· Be able to work in the lab as well as at customer site, alone and as part of a team




· Problem-solving skills in networking, storage and specific application domains




· Relevant academic credentials (CS/ CE / EE), preferably with honors




· Hands-on experience of block-level storage / storage networking protocols / file systems is essential




· Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in at least 2 of the following areas:




o VDI —Citrix and MS Hyper-V




o Server virtualization




o Oracle OLTP




o Microsoft SQL Server OLTP




o Epic database server




o Software development/test




o Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery/Backup and Restore technologies




· Customer-facing experience is a big plus




· Ability to interact and collaborate with highly technical engineering teams




· Self-starter, enthusiastic proactive mindset.




· Social media presence (twitter, blogging) would be a big plus
