If you are a Chemical Engineer with 3-8 years of in plant Process or Production Engineering experience from the Chemical Process Industry  and looking for a great environment and growth opportunity this is the place for you.


Outstanding opportunity with a company who is performing at a very high level. They are profitable and experiencing record sales. There are multiple openings for qualified Chemical Engineers. They are looking for Production Engineers from the Chemical Process Industry with examples of process improvement and optimization, Six Sigma experience is desired. 3-8 years of experience is the target. This is a long time time client of mine and we have a long track record of success of placing some of their top talent.

The positions will be responsible for:

Visiting the processing areas daily and working daily with area operators to troubleshoot any process issues.

Ensuring the product quality meets specification by working with R&D and QC to develop and drive “right the first time” (RFT) processes.

Implementing, sustaining, and improving efforts towards Operational Excellence and Project STAR.

Issuing product non-conformance reports and implementing associated corrective actions in a timely fashion.

Utilizing Statistical Process Control data to verify stable operations, assure processes are capable, or to identify opportunities fro improvement.

Verifying appropriate material usage for production processes and correcting abnormalities.
 
Coordinating and issuing work permits for maintenance work.  Will work with the area maintenance staff to prioritize, prepare, and execute against plans.

Issuing Change Requests for any changes to processes and following up on related action items

Interfacing with Process & Project Engineering as the production representative for area capital projects.  Working with others, the person will define initial project deliverables and lead project implementation in their areas.

Assisting in Process Hazard Analyses and driving resulting action items to completion.
Modifying and updating all Process Safety Information (P&ID’s, procedures, etc.) to meet PSM compliance.

Facilitating/leading several area improvement work groups

Providing training to operators on new and existing processes

Assisting with preparation for annual turnaround work
 

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years production engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.  A B.S. in Chemical Engineering is required.  Applicants will need to have demonstrated ability to form and successfully lead teams of people from a variety of backgrounds.  They must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus quickly as production demands require.  Experience with Statistical Process Control is desired.  Attention to detail, strong troubleshooting skills, and a working use of SAP, Synergen, and Lotus Notes Databases are desired.
