Production Manager

About the Job

Manage and assist in production and distribution of all production made in China.  The position is located in Westlake Village, California.

 

Daily Duties:

Factory Purchase Orders: Confirm cost of goods and Packit Purchase Orders along with providing any specifications to the factory for each Purchase Order. EX: Master carton Specs, Case configurations, art files.

 

Product Design/Development:

Assist in providing and receiving new product designs.-Review first round over Skype and confirm any changes, receive and review with team. Keep track of all costs of goods during the development stage.Receive all art files for new swatches. Request swatches, receive, review and request revisions. Keep log of # of swatches. Advise when cost incurred. Keep track of any hand samples being charged for and logged.

 

Testing:

Ensure all bags are tested annually for each role out. Ensure the correct testing is completed both for US and EU. Assist in any Key Account specific testing request and ensure payment and completion of the test is done in a timely manner.

 

QC:

Monitor Quality control reports. Approve all Material deliveries. Ensure all Specifications are met for each Purchase Order before shipment is set up. Report any concerns coming from the US side to the factory to ensure correction.

International Sales Order:
Assist in confirming inventory, requesting Sales orders, providing them to all International distributors. Follow through on S
ales Order from start to finish including Shipping documents and forwarder intro to factory.

 

International Distributors:

Provide them with any specification or inventory needs. Assist in updating forecasts and any future purchases that will need to be held. Keep a log of international packaging languages and EAN vs UPC codes and ensure each order is set up correctly.

 

Payments:

Assist the accounting department in keeping track of all Factory Purchase orders and payment schedule specifically for the factory in China.

 

China Inventory:

Monitor and Process all international receiving reports and shipping reports to keep international inventory up to date. Confirm all documents are stamped and approved by Factory.

 

US Shipments:

Set up all open purchase orders produced in China to be delivered to the 3rd party logistics warehouse. Ensure all goods are set up to be delivered on time to meet the specific role out dates or inventory needs. / Ensure all goods are received into US warehouse and follow up on any discrepancies.

 

Shipping log:

Keep a tracking log of all US and International Purchase Orders. This log consists of PO#, Container #, Netsuite Fulfillment #, Receiving and Shipping # along with information provided by logistics team.

 

Audits:

Assist in setting up all Key Account audit requests. Ensure audit is completed in a timely manner and payment is made.

 

COGS:

Keep track of all Packit cost of goods for anything made in China as well as assist in any custom requests from Sales team.  EX: Special Tray configurations, new packaging, new product role out, pallet programs, etc.

 

Sourcing:

Source other factories in China to produce additional/New goods. EX: New Packaging vendor, container vendor, etc.

 

Special Ordering:

Set up any special label, packaging requirement that cannot be fulfilled by the current factory and ensure completion and delivery to the appropriate location.

 

Factory Negotiations:

Negotiate pricing for product and prototyping as well as well as production timelines to meet the company needs. Also, plan out and help execute inventory holds at the factory at no charge to Packit.

 

Sampling:

Handle timeline and distribution for samples sent to Packit Sales team and international distributors. Ensure all bags are made in order of importance and shipped and delivered in a timely manner.

 

Product UPC and Spec sheets:

Ensure all UPC and Items numbers are updated with the factory. Create Product spec sheets for each bag design that includes all pertinent information in which will then be provided to Sales reps and distributors in the Packit Packet. This includes Product dimensions, packaging info, Pallet info, UPC codes, etc

 

Management:

Manage our factory QC in ensuring all QC report are completed thoroughly as well request and review any special testing requested and completed by him. Follow up daily on all open projects with the factory manager to ensure all orders, samples, special quoting etc is being completely correctly in a timely manner.  Monitor completion of the shipping log that is managed by myself with logistics. Follow up on the logistics side weekly to ensure log is correct and up to date.
