Production Supervisor- 2nd Shift

Eaton's Brooklyn, Ohio manufacturing facility is searching for a Production Supervisor to join the team. Eaton is a power management company providing energy-efficient solutions that help our customers effectively manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power. This Production Supervisor is over the second shift operation.

The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise, facilitate, coach, assist and manage the deployment of direct and indirect production employees, materials, machines and supplies in the manufacturing of industrial clutches, brakes, and motors.

Position Criteria:
• Drives the company’s vision and mission by reinforcing ethics, values and quality policies throughout their area of responsibility
• Participates in the planning process, achieves operational excellence by leveraging the available tools, ensuring the team has the appropriate training to achieve desired goals and assessing the achievement of those goals
• Leads, measures and monitors continuous improvement programs through EBS
• Complies with all national and local safety and environmental standards, guidelines and policies by driving World class workforce initiatives such as our environmental, health & safety system as well as acting as a steward for our Zero Incident Safety Culture
• Actively participates in setting, communicating and achieving Plant goals and objectives
• Actively drives and participates in Eaton Lean System (ELS) initiatives
• Develops and maintains performance metrics as required to monitor results and uses as a tool to identify and initiate process improvements within their work area
• Coordinates and leverages resources with other managers, such as maintenance, materials, scheduling, logistics and engineering, to resolve manufacturing problems and/or improve processes
• Maintains and reports accurate inventory numbers while continually seeking ways to reduce work in progress (WIP) inventory levels and maximizing product flow
• Promotes and exemplifies Eaton Philosophy Workplace Practices (EPWP) and beliefs which build trust, mutual respect and teamwork between employees at all levels of the organization
• Partners with HR in the selection, promotion, counseling and termination of employees using Eaton guidelines and policies
• Demonstrates an appreciation for similarities and individual differences by promoting a culture of inclusion that leverages the full potential of all employees
• Promotes employee development and potential through effective performance management and coaching (e.g. job skills and career development)
• Takes ownership of employee training and development by ensuring that appropriate and required training is completed for direct reports
• Promotes personal accountability by identifying goals, setting expectations and providing on-going feedback on associate performance with formal evaluation provided regularly
• Acts as an employee advocate in appropriate situations by raising and addressing employee issues with management
• Fairly and consistently applies policies and practices to all employees
• Applies appropriate Eaton Quality System (EQS) processes and problem solving tools to drive continuous quality improvement and ensure alignment/compliance with industry standards
• Constructively interacts with internal customers
• Promotes a quality culture by demonstrating customer focus. Regularly communicates customer feedback to employees in order to facilitate collaborative problem solving

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Minimum one year of leadership experience in a manufacturing or technical environment is required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship on a permanent and consistent basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Two or more years of experience supervising production employees in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated technical understanding of production planning techniques, current quality methods and systems, lean manufacturing, and safety requirements (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Six Sigma, 5S, etc).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and MRP systems.
• Machining, assembly and/or hydraulics experience.
