Eaton Crouse Hinds has an opportunity available for a Project Engineer supporting New Product Development. This position is located at our Syracuse, NY facility.

Principle Accountabilities:
• This position reports to the Engineering Manager and is accountable for product design and the creation of engineering documentation to support the development, manufacturability, safety and marketability of all Eaton Crouse-Hinds products.
• The Project Engineer assumes responsibility of all technical project activities including the execution of high level product design elements.
• The incumbent serves on teams, committees and in ad hoc groups assembled to address design, quality, safety and manufacturing issues.
• The incumbent will design electrical and electronic equipment and products. Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing or new manufacturing or processing facilities and methods. Provide technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties and process advantages and limitations which affect long-range plant and product engineer planning.
• Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs which can be produced by existing or new manufacturing or processing facilities and methods. Review designs to assure compliance with customer requirements.
• Participate in safety reviews of new or modified products to assure safe performance and manufacturability.


Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering capacity.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) will be considered.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Position Criteria:
• Experience with Electrical products
• Excellent communication skills including writing instructions and communicating with vendors/suppliers
• Skills include advanced design elements, engineered material selection, design costing, project management, team coordination, technical report writing, computer assisted drafting (CAD), and personal computer spreadsheet and word processor knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:
• 5 years of engineering experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree
• Engineering Software experience with 3-D CAD (SolidWorks), PDM, Simulation (COSMOS, CF Design, Photopia)
• Experience with reading wiring schematics
