Position description

Payroll Administrator

Do spreasheets make you giddy? Are you looking for a job with a growing company? If so, look no further. Cafe Rio is looking to hire a full-time payroll administrator. The payroll administrator is primarily responsible for handling payroll inquiries; compiling and recording employee time and payroll data; computing deductions, wage adjustments and bonuses; and preparing payroll and business reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Processes, researches, maintains and responds to internal/external payroll and benefits inquiries including garnishments
  • Maintains employee payroll data in corporate and restaurant systems, assigns applicable exemptions and deductions, and accrues paid-time off for eligible populations
  • Maintains and readily updates employee payroll files and information in corporate and restaurant systems
  • Reviews and validates time sheets, deductions, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies
  • Reviews and prepares training and borrowed employee payments such as per diem, bonus and travel time
  • Issues and records adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases
  • Prepares monthly bonus payments and calculates applicable overtime bonuses as needed
  • Performs data integrity checks on employee data in corporate and restaurant systems and makes needed corrections
  • Creates and updates reports and forms in corporate and restaurant system as needed
  • Organizes and prepares paychecks, direct deposit statements and pay confirmation forms for shipping to store locations

 

Qualifications:

  • One to two years experience working a payroll function or payroll shared services capacity
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with HR and restaurant facing systems, including report functionality and custom reporting
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Proficient knowledge of the internet and web-based research tools
  • Completes tasks with minimal direction and supervision
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times
