Essential Duties These duties directly and substantially serve to achieve the purpose
of the position.
1. Coordinate supply chain management with a focus upon strategic sourcing of commodities: Beef, chicken, cheese, flour, soybean oil, corn, etc.
2. Responsible for procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, packaging, operating, office, janitorial and sanitation supplies to meet Company objectives and customer requirements.
3. Maintain Purchasing documents, requisitions, bid specifications and vender files
4. Obtain required legal documentation from suppliers and ensure compliance with food safety regulations
5. Evaluate current suppliers on a regular basis
6. Analyze forecasts and recommend forward buys
7. Analyze trends to assist in strengthening the company’s bargaining position with suppliers.
8. Strong focus on strategic sourcing of commodities: Beef, chicken, cheese, flour, soybean oil, corn, etc.
9. Responsible for procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, packaging, operating, office, janitorial and sanitation supplies to meet Company objectives and customer requirements.
10.Analyze forecasts and recommend forward buys
11.Analyze trends to assist in strengthening the company’s bargaining position with suppliers.
12.Closely watch inventories and monitor the needs based on usage, including reviewing forecasts
13.Monitor shipments, and take all necessary steps to insure that they are received in a timely manner.
14.Demonstrate high ethical behavior internally and externally
15.Cross functional communication and alignment with R&D, Operations, Sales, Marketing and Packaging Engineer
16.Strive to deliver the best value while providing choices to the business
17.Daily management or MRP, P.O. administration, price variance, invoice resolution.
18.Communicate with Quality Assurance, Sales, and supplier on issues concerning defective or unacceptable goods, and determine corrective action.
19.Acquire product specifications and all necessary paperwork from vendors to satisfy the needs of our Quality Assurance Department and database
20.Monitor the Quality of all incoming ingredients to ensure compliance of all Company and Government standards
21.Review and oversee filing of vendor COA’s and continuing guarantees.
22.Notify and coordinate with Purchasing and R&D any label changes from ingredients to ensure compliance (incoming new supplier, new specifications)

Supervisory Responsibilities: (If applicable) Directly supervises approximately 5 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Must have a Minimum of 5 years purchasing experience in a food manufacturing environment and commodity buying. Knowledge of MRP system. Strong Analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating company needs
Must be able to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with e-auctions an hedging contracts is a plus
Must reside in the Dallas area
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent; and 5-8 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics and financial information. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of most commonly used business systems and software applications in addition to Windows Office and how these systems relate to business processes.
