Senior Development Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
1.Coordinate all aspects of projects from concept to production trial pertaining to the development of innovative films, multilayer flexible structures and packaging
2.Consult with Sales, Project Managers and Customers to determine accurate packaging desires and CTQ’s.
3.Research market opportunities and trends to identify and financially characterize viable opportunities.
4.Communicate with Applications groups and Operations to jointly assure production success of new products.
5.Work within teams on projects to develop packaging with new materials.
6.Specify and manage capital requests for prototyping and testing equipment, and necessary add-ons to production equipment for converting new products.
7.Research and interpret IP matters related to technologies under development.
8.Benchmark innovative flexible packaging in the industry.
9.Use predictive modeling and Design Center capabilities to review concepts prior to prototyping.
10.Present routinely on R&D activities to a variety of audiences.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:  
 
1.Bachelor’s degree in Packaging or Chemical Engineering, graduate degree preferred.
2.Strong project management / organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
3.5+ yrs experience with the technical and market aspects of flexible packaging.
4.Proven product development success.
5.Deep understanding of materials used for sealant, barrier and support films.
6.Ability to travel as needed.
7.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
