The Eaton facility in Van Wert, OH has an immediate opening for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
The primary objective of this position is: The creation, ownership, and improvement of all processes plant-wide such as leading cost reductions projects, take ownership of production standard work and documentation, and utilize available tools in order to drive continuous improvements. Also, be responsible for leading/supporting in a teaming environment. Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities across the plant including the following activities: safety, cost reduction / cost out projects, product cost estimating, developing and maintaining production standards and standard work. Assist in the coordination of the capital spending program, insuring accuracy of BOM and routings within ERP system, and assisting in new product launch during and after implementation.
The job duties are: A. Lead cost reduction projects, value analysis and economic programs in order to reduce labor and burden costs. B. Own, prepare, and maintain all production standard work and production documentation, conduct regular standard work checks. C. Use Eaton Lean System / Continuous Improvement Framework Tool in order to drive continuous improvements. D. Develop, maintain, and improve plant/work cell layouts. E. Familiar with automation techniques, including feeders, sensors, hydraulics & pneumatics F. Ensure that process improvements are accurately reflected in product costs and labor and material standards. G. Participates in ergonomics team meetings with goal of identifying and eliminating ergonomics risks. H. Evaluate customer returns for root cause and corrective actions, utilizing formal problem solving tools such as 8D analysis, PFMEA’s, Control plans, etc. and being able to tie this analysis back to operations standard work and product documentation. I. Mentor co-ops, interns, and technicians. J. Support new product / process development utilizing ProLaunch. K. Analyzes manufacturing data, identifying adverse conditions and makes recommendations for improvement. L. Research, recommend and execute capital equipment projects. M. Ensure processes meet Environmental, Safety, and Health (MESH) & regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required. • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in manufacturing environment is required. • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution • Knowledge and application of problem solving tools and methodologies
