Senior Process Engineer

My client has an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Process Engineer - an experienced chemical engineer who can troubleshoot and optimize the process unit operations in its modern petroleum refinery. This position is in St. Paul, Minnesota.  

Job Description:  In this influential role, you will provide optimization and troubleshooting of daily refinery process operations. This includes identifying opportunities for process improvement and developing improvement projects to capitalize on these opportunities. You will also have major impact in providing design input and utilizing computer programs (HYSYS, HTRI) to identify inefficiencies, design new projects, and optimize unit operations.

About the Company:
This position is with an expanding U.S. energy company with refining and pipeline operations serving the U.S. Midwest. This growing company also
operates extensive storage, transporation, and pipeline assets to transport crude oil from the Western Canada oil sands and North Dakota Bakken Shale oilfields. 

Background Requirements: 

*  B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering

*  Minimum of 8 years of process engineering experience in petrochemical plant operations 
*  Previous refinery experience with direct experience in refinery unit operations, with a basic understanding of refining processes and economics, is preferred
*  Experience with engineering software applications (HYSYS, Pro II, PI, HTRI) is preferred
*  Strong analytical and problem solving skills
*  Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
*  Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers and operational personnel
