Our Columbus, OH office has an exciting job opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing professional consulting office. Candidate will work with and be mentored by strong, nationally recognized, senior technical staff. We are looking for someone who is interested in helping lead and develop the growth and profitability of the engineering group.
Responsible for overall design engineering, coordinating & managing engineering services and ensuring they are completed on time and on budget. Develops design concepts which are incorporated in the final project. Responsible for the overall supervision of assigned projects and ensuring the client is satisfied with scope of work. Has the ability to assign work, to establish schedules and to instruct team members when necessary. Determine program objectives and requirements are developing standards and guideline for diverse engineering activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments
Performs engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities such as roads, channels, dams, irrigation projects, pipelines, power plants, water and sewage systems, and waste disposal units
Analysis of survey reports, maps, and drawings, aerial and other topographical or geologic data; computing load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors; and conduct studies of environmental conditions
Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and judgment in anticipation and solving engineering complexities
Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Responsible for time and budget analysis and making sure project is on time and budget
Provides schematic design information
Prepares preliminary task lists
Providing technical engineering information to project management to ensure that work complies with customer specifications & engineering standards
Makes independent decisions on engineering problems and methods
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in water and wastewater planning, design and construction of water and wastewater treatment plants, distribution and collection system.
BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer Registration in Ohio or the ability to obtain by reciprocity is required
Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software; 3D Civil software experience desired
