This 12-month assignment is focused on working with a major customer on customer premises to assist in their Unified Communications (UC) deployment projects. This position requires an excellent technology experience on Avaya platforms coupled with good communications, organization, and project related skills. The Avaya Engineer will be responsible for a range of technical work including planning and execution of tasks required to support site cut-over; developing test and acceptance plans; planning for equipment rooms; and conducting due diligence on legacy systems in support of deployment planning. Experience with Nortel systems is a plus. Excellent teamwork is an essential requirement.
• Prioritize workload to meet project milestones and customers’ expectations. • Provide dial plan conversions, execute multi-site complex implementations. • Develop plans for feature grouping for user categories. • Perform site surveys and support equipment room planning. • Examine information from legacy systems in support of site conversion planning (particularly from Nortel systems). • Provide user training. • Assist with day 2 customizations and incidents. • Escalate issues to Original Equipment Manufacturer as needed.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
• At least 3 years of Telecommunications and management experience in a fast-paced environment. • Strong knowledge of AVAYA telecommunications products and services. • Ability to self-motivate to high work performance, loyalty, and customer satisfaction. • Ability to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment. • Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement strategies and manage change. • Strong team work ethic, excellent verbal and written communication skills. • BS in relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Team player with strong collaboration skills are essential. • Experience with the following:
Avaya CM 6.x, Session Border Controllers, Session Manager, System Manager. SIP Trunking. Wireless Access Points (Cisco, Aruba). Contact Center, MS Lync, IVR, auto-dialer, VMWare, and ACE experience are a plus.
