Cyber Security Trainer/Administrator
Security Clearance Eligibility: Must be a US Citizen capable of acquiring a DOE “Q” Security Clearance
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Cyber Security Trainer/Administrator will design and deliver both general awareness and job-specific cyber security training sessions and courses for the purpose of increasing compliance with the National Nuclear Security Administration’s security policies, and for promoting employee cyber security ‘best practices’ in the workplace and at home. The Trainer/Administrator will also constantly publicize good cyber security practices using various innovative methods and mediums that serve to promote cyber security awareness. The Trainer will be a member of the Cyber Security Team, and will be responsible for participating in a variety of team initiatives. The Cyber Security Trainer/Administrator will also be responsible for documenting, developing, and coordinating cyber security initiatives and processes.
Review organizational security policies and procedures and create corresponding educational information and training materials.
Consult with other groups to determine their cyber security training/awareness needs; then develop commensurate curriculum as well as custom computer-based and online training courses.
Design, produce, and deliver compelling security-related training classes.
Design and distribute materials promoting cyber security.
Manage a security awareness program highlighting specific topics of interest on a routine basis using innovative methods of delivery.
Track and report on the cyber security training status of both Federal and contractor DOE/NNSA Albuquerque Complex employees.
Conduct classroom training in a variety of cyber security topics, to include proper use of organizational Information Technology assets, information management and protection, and general cyber strategies and user awareness.
Develop, document, monitor, and coordinate Cyber Security Team initiatives and processes to include existing processes and new processes.
Work in a team environment with members from other organizations to investigate and mitigate cyber security incidents.
Develop and update content for the NNSA Albuquerque Complex’s cyber security web page.
Maintain current knowledge of security trends, vulnerabilities, threats, and mitigation methods.
Provide feedback for draft DOE and NNSA Albuquerque Complex cyber security policies.
Ability to design and write classroom curriculum and syllabi; certified instructor through a college or a military instructor training school is preferred. Knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodology and the ability to apply this methodology when developing courses is a plus.
Ability to quickly learn new software applications, to write curriculum, and to develop course materials individually or as part of a team.
Demonstrated capabilities in development of computer based training (CBT) a plus; must possess a willingness to develop those skills.
Ability to manage and sustain a security awareness campaign; previous marketing experience a plus.
Strong interpersonal acumen and clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
An education, background, or professional experience in Information Technology, or a suitable combination of the three.
Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Must a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” clearance.
Active DOE “Q” clearance.
