Sr. Design Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the most complex and challenging system and product design projects based on creativity, focusing on implementation of automatic operations, new processes and modern technology.
Lead the development, build and implementation in to production of new or improved products or major components.
Coordinate design proposals and develop test data and specification of material through interaction with internal and external customers.
Leading technical teams challenged with complex tasks, such as developing new products, improving existing designs or working on failure investigation efforts.
Investigate pertinent design factors including ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, contractual requirements, and cost.
Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.
Contribute to the development of the design team by providing direction and a high level of technical expertise to Design Engineers and Drafters.
Significant knowledge and experience in manufacturing equipment design, including specification of component materials.
Knowledge in small ammunition assembling operations and its components fabrication.
Leading the efforts of new types of ammunition and components design and improvement of existing product.
Knowledge in applied internal and external ballistics.
Experience in PRODES or similar software to provide ballistics modeling and simulations.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.
Level of experience we are seeking would normally be attained after 10 or more years in the field.
Experience in the manufacture and application of mechanical components with tight tolerances.
A clear understanding of manufacturing and machining processes, the ability to work in a team environment, and strong skills in Microsoft office.
Understanding and experience in tooling fabrication and use for deep metal draw operations is a plus.
Experience with Pro-E and FEA experience for mechanical design is a plus.
