GENERAL SUMMARY Recognized leader in the planning, development, and production of marketing communications programs to advertise and promote company products and services. Plans and directs the efforts of individual contributors and consultants including internal-facing and external-facing constituents. Acts as communications consultant to various business units in order to guide planning efforts. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Interacts with company and communications management to determine and plan major activities. Collaborates with marcom peers in strategic partner companies and with EMC marcom staff to design, coordinate, and implement communications programs. Provides consultative marcom support to one or more major line-of-business. Creates and delivers reports on activities for management. Has budget accountability for specific initiatives. Creative Projects: Reports to the Director or Manager of Creative Services. Manages concept development and copywriting for critical corporate and sales literature, audio/visual, multimedia and sales tools. Refines and prioritizes messages, devises creative concepts and integrates key messaging platforms across the department. Supervises the copywriting workload of staff and freelance writers. Products and Services: Reports to the Manager, Marketing Communications. Manages communications programs that support existing and new products, services, and vertical market segments. Coordinates all aspects of the communications mix including print advertising, collateral and literature, product launches, and trade shows. Manages programs that both aggressively defend market share and acquire new market opportunities for EMC to pursue. Web Site: Reports to the Director of Creative Services or Manager, Strategic Communications. Manages the ongoing development of all content, messages, and supporting creative structure of EMC''s external Web site, in line with the corporate marketing and communications strategies of the company. The Web Site Manager interacts with communications and company management and other marcom program managers to create and shape timely, dynamic, and effective editorial, themes, and interactive capabilities for EMC''s major corporate, marketing and communications initiatives and programs. The Web Program Manager is also responsible for being the advocate and consultant to other EMC internal groups to ensure appropriate use and content of the external Web site. Corporate Events: Reports to the Manager, Corporate Events. Manages the translation of current and emerging corporate marketing and sales strategies into event marketing opportunities. Responsible for establishing relationships with to be able to understand their needs and translate into event marketing opportunities. Will participate in marketing communication strategy development sessions to coordinate pertinent product messaging with event strategies. Designs event concepts and strategies which complement and promote marketing and sales strategies and objectives. Determines and develops appropriate partner sponsorship opportunities in support of the events and manages the delivery of events when necessary. Strategic Relationships: Manages all aspects of communicating the business value of EMC storage solutions with strategic partners (CPU vendors, software and database vendors, other OEMs). Coordinates activities to generate qualified leads from new and existing EMC accounts and partner bases. Manages activities to increase EMC''s involvement in partner-related promotional activities.
