Sr. Software Engineer

About the Job

We, just like most of the other job postings on this site, are looking for a talented software developer. The difference is we want someone who enjoys working on all aspects of a project.  Electronic Discovery is a fairly new and growing discipline; You're going to help us refine our current practices and shape new ones.

We also need someone who thinks it'd be cool to work on web and desktop user interfaces, deployments, and massive back end processes that deal with terabytes of data. That's because our position involves working on internal and client facing products that require both quick one-offs and large complex solutions for fairly challenging problems.

Most of our development is on the Microsoft stack; but we are not afraid of new technologies and we try to take advantage of them when appropriate. .Net is our hammer but we know that every problem is not a nail.

Currently, our primary development environment is VS 2013, .Net4.5 and TFS. We support desktop applications (WPF and WinForms), Web API services, WCF services (SOAP & REST) and even some web sites (ASP.NET/HTML/JS/jQuery).

This position is for our Denver tech center office.

Skills & Requirements

Must Haves

  • Developers have to learn and adapt to new technologies. We expect you to WANT to.
  • Professional development experience. Even if the place you worked wasn't very professional.
  • Source control should not be a new concept to you.
  • Database experience. MS Access does not count and Excel is not a database.  Experience with at least one ORM library and ability to write raw SQL when needed.
  • Skills and best practices that should be passed on to others through mentorship.
  • The desire to be a full stack developer. Be prepared to work from the frontend through the backend. It's more fun than it sounds.
  • An understanding of ALM and input on how to improve it.
  • The ability to communicate. So when you reply to this posting give us your best.
  • An understanding of what it means to say honey badger don't care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a Microsoft development stack. WISA on the web, WinForms & Xaml on the desktop.
  • An understanding of IoC that goes beyond what the first paragraph of what Wikipedia says.
  • Experience with service bus (MassTransit, NServiceBus), and message queues, we use RabbitMQ
  • Any other cool technology that you can convince us we should be using.
  • A GitHub profile that we can use to check out your code.
  • Side projects that give us a window into your interests and your love of code.
