EchoStar has an opening for a Sr Software Engineer/Developer. This candidate will design, develop and maintain network applications in the C programming language for TV set top box receivers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in architecting network applications and choosing appropriate protocols for new features
- Decompose tasks, define milestones, create schedules and estimated development resources for projects
- Work within a development team using change control and source code management systems
Skills and Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- At least 3 years experience in C programming
- At least 3 years experience in network application development in C
- Experience with embedded system development is a plus
- Experience with Linux kernel driver development is helpful
- Most importantly, the candidate must have proven experience in the implementation of network applications from conception to completion
- Proven written/verbal communication skills
- Good team player
- Quick learner
- Deep knowledge of computer networking concepts (TCP/IP)
- Knowledge of software development cycles
- Knowledge of secure code development principles
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal input
