Sr. Systems Engineer

Plan, design, implement and troubleshoot hardware, Windows OS and Wintel based infrastructure and business products deployed to client facilities.
Analyze technology alternatives against business requirements to select products best meeting business needs, considering all relevant factors.
Provide technical leadership to the company, maintaining knowledge of technology direction, and applying that technology to create benefit for the company. Participates in long-term strategic planning, linking the overall architecture to company’s vision.
Enhance the relationship between Wintel Engineering and other IT groups by demonstrating superior management of commitments and customer service. Work with those groups closely to ensure the effective development, implementation, and on-going operability of cross-platform applications.
Establish and document all required Wintel-related standards and procedures required to maintain an effective corporate computing environment.
Enhance security practices, standards and procedures to ensure that critical company assets, including data, are secured.
Participate in rotating on-call 7 x 24 last-level support and perform off-hours changes.
Qualified candidates will have at least five years’ experience as a Windows Operating Systems Engineer in large-scale corporate environments. They will have a demonstrated, superior track record analyzing, designing, testing, and implementing windows-based technologies. Current knowledge and experience of recent releases of the Windows operating systems family and many of the following: Active Directory, Exchange, collaboration tools, server virtualization products, server clustering products, IIS, MS-SQL, MS-Office, Terminal Services, Altiris Client Management, Symantec AV, Tumbleweed, wireless device administration. Additionally, candidates will be experienced in design and control of Windows desktop images and will be familiar with the special issues arising when managing Windows desktop deployment to very large populations. Dynamic self-starters with a thirst for knowledge and the opportunity to apply it, readily able to adapt to change, able to communicate to diverse audiences, ready to lead, influence, and be influenced by their peers. Bachelor's degree in Computing Science or a related field, or will have equivalent education and work experience, Current Microsoft certifications will be advantageous
